About Enhanced Optometry Services
Enhanced Optometry Services Ltd is an independent eye-care services provider with a background in community optometry and eye-care screening. Established in 2005, the company has developed over time to deliver services supporting patients and the wider eye-care community, including community-based glaucoma monitoring.
Our History
Enhanced Optometry Services (EOS) has its roots in Coggeshall Optometry Practice, established in 2005 by optometrist Niall Dorgan as a sole trader.
In 2013, following the award of a contract to provide slit-lamp diabetic eye screening services for the North East Essex Diabetic Eye Screening Service, the business was incorporated as Enhanced Optometry Services Ltd. The company subsequently expanded its work to provide services across three different screening programmes.
In 2021, EOS began providing community glaucoma clinics, initially running one day a week and seeing a small number of patients. Over the following two years, the service expanded considerably, developing into a programme of clinics operating five days a week.
Today, EOS provides community glaucoma appointments for approximately 3,000 patients each year at its clinic at Portland Medical Practice in Colchester. The clinic operates as part of the wider North East Essex Community Glaucoma Service, alongside other providers operating at separate locations.
Our development reflects a continuing commitment to extending access to professional eye-care services and supporting patients through community-based care.
Our Commitment
EOS is committed to providing accessible, professional and patient-focused eye-care services. We value the relationships we build with patients and healthcare partners, and aim to deliver services that complement existing pathways of care.
